THERE’S only one Best Pick-up of the Year – the Amarok.
Winner of our pick-up category in the Vans Director supported Business Van of the Year awards, the award-winning truck has just got faster out of the blocks.
The high-powered 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine powering the top-spec Amarok has been upgraded.
Yippee!
The V6 now pumps out 258 PS – or briefly even 272 PS on overboost.
There’s more shove-it-down-the-road torque, too: 580 Nm up from 550.
And, of course, to keep it altogether, there’s permanent 4MOTION all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic gearbox come as standard.
The new 258 PS powertrain is available on the range-topping Highline trim. It replaces the 224 PS unit.
However, you can still order Amarok with 204 PS (six-speed manual or eight-speed auto) and 163 PS (manual only) engine options.
There are plenty of goodies on the top-spec power boosted Highline:
ABS,
ESP and automatic post-collision braking system,
climatronic air conditioning,
Composition Media infotainment system with touchscreen and App-Connect,
18-inch alloy wheels,
bi-xenon headlights,
side bars,
front and rear parking sensors with rear-view camera
and Vienna leather upholstery.
Prices for the new top-spec Highline model with 258 PS engine start at £34,325 (basic, excluding VAT and OTR). The entry-level model to the range, the 163 PS Trendline, costs £24,510 (basic).
