Engines everywhere are getting smaller, but more efficient. The Vivaro will be powered by 2 new diesels, both of 1.6 litres

Two diesels, four output levels

Power comes from two all-new turbodiesels – a 1.6 CDTi unit, as well as a 1.6 BiTurbo CDTi with sequential turbocharging and a twin-cooler system. This engine, powered by two turbochargers working in tandem, is said to combine excellent performance with outstanding fuel economy.

Combined cycle consumption of 47mpg (preliminary data) with the new turbo diesel units is considerably improved over the previous model’s figures.

All the new Vauxhall Vivaro’s standard roof variants are built at the Luton plant. The plant’s vehicle conversion centre for specialist variants, such as platform cabs, opened in 2009, and is to be expanded allowing ex-works delivery of the new Vauxhall Vivaro in many conversion configurations.

Business Vans will feature more on the new Vauxhall Vivaro’s technologies and flexible interior configurations as soon as details are available.
