VWS, one of Scotland’s innovative technology-based security companies, has refreshed its fleet of vehicles with a full overhaul by acquiring 12 new Ford Transit vans, the VWS Transits finished in metallic blue.

Recently awarded a six-figure contract by Aberdeen City Council to provide an Internet Protocol (IP) enabled, networked CCTV system to monitor traffic throughout the city, VWS moved to replace an aging fleet.

Operations manager Lindsay Wilson looked to local motor dealers for leasing and purchase costings and settled on a Kilmarnock-based firm to provide leasing facilities.

Because of the high-end CCTV, security and networked systems provided by VWS, the tools and stock carried in the vans are critical to efficient operation; the vans are fitted with bespoke drawers and secure fittings, tailored to clients’ needs.

Mr Wilson said: “The interior fittings of the new vans make them mini-workshops which allow our engineers to make on-site repairs that would previously have involved returning faulty parts to base. As a result, the time clients undergo downtime in their systems is significantly reduced.”

In addition to the interior changes the fleet  sprayed a bright metallic blue sports striking VWS livery.  The changes have had immediate effects, with a significant increase in client calls for services.
