Renault, Master, pick-up

The Renault Master pick-up, one of 120 versions.

A system incorporating Carminat TomTom navigation is available as an option.

Business and Business + trims will be available and all get equipment including, electric front windows, electric heated door mirrors , remote central locking (two button key) and deadlocking.

So, how has the Master changed under the skin?

There’s a new rear-wheel drive L4 version to start with, which is aimed at long distance operators and designed for use on motorways. Furthermore, the rear-drive chassis equals 30cm more space, as the cargo area can now swallow up to five euro pallets.

However, the biggest changes are under the bonnet as there are three new 2.0-litre engines in dCi 110, dCi 135 and dCi 165 versions. The 135 and 165bhp versions have twin-turbos, yet are still capable of 40+ mpg.

Other clever technologies new to the Master include Grip Xtend, which is fitted to both front-and rear-drive Master models. It works by optimising the performance of the stability control system when grip is at a premium. If one of the driven wheels starts to spin, the differential lock engages automatically transferring the power to the other wheel.
