RENAULT’S all-new Trafic, which made its UK debut at the CV Show in April, is now available for order with pricing starting from from £18,245 (ex-VAT) for the short wheelbase Business trim model rising to £25,595 for the LWB Sport 6-seater.
Predicted best seller is likely to be the entry level Business model
First deliveries are expected in September with low-roof versions in two body lengths going on sale now and high-roof and Platform-Cab models available in 2015.
Platform-Cab models will be priced from £20,195 and Crew Vans from £20,395.
Depending on model, the new Renault Trafic is available in three trim levels – Business, Business+ and Sport, and with a choice of four diesel engines, a dCi 90 and dCi 115, plus new twin-turbo ENERGY dCi 120 and 140 (with Stop & Start).
According to Renault, average fuel economy has been improved by more than 5mpg across the range (single turbo), with up 47.9 mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of only 149g/km in the case of the ENERGY dCi 120 (passenger version).
And the Renault Trafic has been endowed with a range of new standard and optional equipment including Hill Start Assist, smartphone and tablet docks, reversing camera, removable A4 clipboard, Wide View Mirror, Grip Xtend, hands-free card, MediaNav and Renault R-Link app-based infotainment systems.
In all, 72 different variants will be available in the UK.
Predicted best seller is likely to be the entry level model, aptly named the Business. Main features include a height adjustable driver’s seat, nearside loading door, full steel bulkhead and deadlocking.
Also new are ESC with HSA (Hill Start Assist) and Grip Xtend (an advanced traction control system for loose surfaces (mud, sand, snow and so on). DAB radio with USB connectivity is standard.
The Business+ trim, which costs an additional £1100 over the Business model, adds ‘mobile office’ features. There’s a fold-down centre passenger seat with removable A4 clipboard, plus laptop storage and a smartphone dock. You also get air con and a full steel bulkhead with a ‘load-through’ facility (up to 4.15m in the long-wheelbase version).
The flagship model – the Sport – adds glitzy trim features that include17-inch alloys, auto lights and wipers, Bluetooth connectivity, a seven-inch touchscreen MediaNav multimedia and navigation system, cruise control, speed limiter and front fog lights.
