Prices start from £20,795 for heavy duty Master
RENAULT has released details and prices of the new Master range – and the big news is that rear-wheel drive versions will be available at the top-end of the range. These new RWD models take Master up to 4.5 tonnes GVW.
Meanwhile smaller front-drive Masters, which run from 2.8 tonnes to 3.5 tonnes will be cheaper than outgoing range, with the initial panel van and crew van models priced from £20,795 to £26,645. Rear-drive panel vans are priced from £27,245 to £29,945.
The new Master is now available to order and goes on sale on April 9. The mechanically identical Vauxhall Movano will be available from May. Both vans are built at a Renault plant at Batilly, France.
There are now four body lengths and three heights: in total there are more than 300 versions of the Renault Master. And there are new engines too – a 2.3-litre dCi engine is available with three power outputs: 100, 125 and 150hp. The same engines are used in both the FWD (transversally-mounted) and RWD versions (longitudinal).
The new engines give reduced running costs, improved emissions, and better fuel economy – FWD Masters can travel up to 870 miles on single tank of diesel; fuel consumption is as low as 33mpg (equivalent to 187g CO2/km). Running costs have also been slashed compared with the previous model and figure among the market
