Here are Kate and Pippa, the latest additions to QMS’s small fleet of Mercedes Sprinters

ARE you one for giving your van a pet name? If so, you’re certainly not alone.

Road-marking specialist company Quality Marketing Services likes to name all its vans and asked its customers and staff to suggest names for the latest additions to its van line-up – a pair of Mercedes-Benz Sprinters. As a result, the ‘sister’ vans have been called ‘Kate’ and ‘Pippa’.

The Newton Abbot-based business recently bought the two Mercedes Sprinter 313 CDIs from Exeter Dealer City West Commercials, with funding support from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.

The latest models, launched last year, have effciency improved by at least 7% over the previous version. They also offers new safety systems including Crosswind Assist, which detects sudden gusts of wind and helps prevent the van drifting out of its lane.

The medium-length, high-roofed Sprinters came in Highway Yellow and local sign writer A-Signs then applied QMS’s eye-catching liveries.

“We like to name all of our vehicles,” QMS operations director Greg Clark told Business Vans. “And given that we asked customers and colleagues to offer suggestions for a pair of sisters, I suppose the result was inevitable – the Duchess of Cambridge and Pippa Middleton won by a landslide.

“These new vans are a great mobile advertisement for our business, and are turning heads wherever they go,” he said.
