The branded XBG site will run weekly with end of month online auctions allowing buyers to purchase from its extensive range of ex-fleet LCV stock from vendors such as National Grid and Wales and West Utilities.

This is one of the first online remarketing platforms dedicated to light commercials in the UK and signals the start of more used light commercials being sold online.

“Our new partnership with Autorola allows us to offer stock to our buyers 24/7 and if someone wants to source a vehicle for a customer out of normal business hours or at weekends, we have now got this covered,” explained Dave Woods, director of XBG Fleet.

“It will take some of the volume away from physical auction, but I think this is a good thing as when a large fleet operator offloads 100 identical vans simultaneously, they will be spread through online and physical channels. Spreading the volume should mean we see better prices and open up stock to new buyers,” he added.

All vehicles will go through a comprehensive inspection and then be de-liveried before any additional items such as communication equipment is de-installed.

A range of photos and documentation are uploaded to support the vehicle’s provenance and all mileages are warranted by the vendor. Any vehicle damage will be accurately supplied along with an estimate of how much it will cost to repair.

“We aim to be very open with the condition of the vehicle to extend our excellent reputation in the LCV market to online buyers. Through Autorola’s escrow account service, buyer funds are not transferred to the vendor until we know they are happy, and if a dealer wants a vehicle prepped to retail ready standard, we are offering a range of value added services which add further value,” said Woods.

XBG will offer its customers a range of additional services courtesy of the Autorola de-fleet centre, including valeting and damage repair, plus a nationwide delivery service.

“XBG is the first customer to take advantage of our Branded Sites service which enables vendors to market their used cars through Autorola’s online auction platform directly to trade buyers in a consistent and professional way, bringing new levels of innovation to the LCV remarketing industry,” explained Simon Wells, Autorola’s business development manager.
