OH WE like this very much!
The idea was to create a race-inspired support vehicle for the average guy to spend a weekend at the track testing his Hot Wheels race car
C’mon – you must’ve played with Hot Wheels once in your childhood!
Bet you have.
But this is the ultimate Hot Wheels fantasy. A real size Hot Wheels hot-rod van based on the Ford Transit Connect.
Hot Wheels were die-cast metal toy cars first introduced by Mattel back in the late sixties. They could perform fantastic double flips on special tracks.
But this is something else. Revealed at the SEMA show in the US, this is a full-size Hot Wheels version including – as befits it – a fully customised interior and exterior: there’s two 18-inch tablets, a 55-inch television screen, gullwing doors, Recaro seats and a built-in Hot Wheels drag strip, and amazing 20 inch wheels powered by a 2.5-litre engine.
“The Hot Wheels design team jumped at the chance to hot rod a Transit Connect van,” said Felix Holst, vice president of creative for Mattel Wheels Division.
