IS YOUR company use up to date with the latest need-to-know compliance, operational and safety issues?
The FTA is holding three Van Excellence Operational Briefings, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Vans, in Edinburgh, Derby, and London from 26 March to 2 April.
These will also explore the role of van drivers as industrial athletes, and how this can be used to manage driver performance and encourage wellbeing. The events are also sponsored by Bott, Brigade Electronics, Hertz, Lex Autolease and Quartix.
Mark Cartwright, Head of Vans and Light Commercial Vehicles at FTA, said: “With more than four million vans now on Britain’s roads, their efficient and compliant operation is of the upmost importance.
“Van Excellence’s Operational Briefings are essential events for anyone using vans as part of their everyday work life, whether they are in charge of one vehicle or a fleet of several thousand. And the briefings are just as relevant for those sectors which use vans as part of their working days – tradesmen and women from carpenters to florists – as they are for those operating delivery services.”
With poor mental and physical health common among van drivers – which can impact their driving ability – the briefings will also tackle the physical, mental and safety challenges facing van drivers.
Speakers will include representatives from the police, Transport Research Laboratory, FTA’s Brexit team, British Dietetic Association and Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).
The three venues are:
- 26 March 2019: Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh
- 28 March 2019: Pride Park, Derby
- 2 April 2019: Thistle Heathrow Hotel, London
