The Van-entines week promotion saw sales up 17% compared with a year ago

MORE than 820 used vans and trucks were sold to ‘loved-up’ buyers in Manheim Commercial Vehicle’s Van-entines promotional week recently, marking the Valentines season.

During the promotion, Manheim dressed vehicles, auction halls and staff in pink and red, and gave away chocolates and champagne, as well as retail vouchers.

And Manheim’s social media followers received daily updates via Twitter @lovecommercials.

Matthew Davock and his team at Manheim pride themselves on their open and friendly relationships with customers

The ‘share-the-love’ theme seems to have gone down well with buyers – during the course of the week, the series of Van-entines events which showcased a selection of vendors and vehicles, achieved an overall conversion rate of 72%.

This represents a year-on-year growth in volume sold of just over 17% compared with the corresponding period in 2013, despite de-fleet volumes remaining similar.

Manheim head of LCV Matthew Davock told Business Vans: “This themed week was great fun for customers and the Manheim team alike. Buyers repeatedly tell us that Manheim Commercial Vehicles is the most approachable and friendly CV auction business in the UK.

“The Van-entines campaign was about delivering a ‘feel good’ factor to differentiate Manheim, all while highlighting that we have the greatest selection of vans for sale in the UK, that we love engaging with our customers and we enjoy having some fun along the way.”
