Vanarama

The new Vanarama website is designed to be used from phones and tablets as well as desktop and laptop computers

VAN leasing specialist Vanarama has pumped £100,000 into a website redesign intended to simplify online van buying.

The new website aims to deliver concise, clear and useful content with complete functionality on all devices, from the smallest smartphone and tablets to high-end computers and ‘everything in-between’.

Our key customer base consists of builders and tradespeople, so it’s no surprise that 52% of our customers are out on the road

Vanarama managing director Andy Alderson told Business Vans: “Our key customer base consists of builders and tradespeople, so it’s no surprise that 52% of our customers are out on the road, viewing our website from a mobile device.

“This figure is only going to grow, so it was vital to create a ‘mobile first’ design to our site. This would help ensure that mobile users would have just as good an experience on their mobile as they would on a desktop computer.”

He said the site needed to operate effortlessly and work seamlessly for customers using touchscreen devices and who require access to user-friendly information anywhere and at any time.

A large part of the redesign budget has been spent on producing photography for every van sold and an on-line photo gallery allows customers to view each vehicle in all the popular colours.

In addition 360 degree videos have been provided as well as video walk-arounds and reviews.

The site also includes a Running Costs Calculator so customers and an on-line vehicle comparator.
